Passionately known as Amai (Mother) or Mother of the nation, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa became the First Lady of the Republic of Zimbabwe on the 24th of November 2017. She is a former Chairperson of the Pan African Parliament for the Southern African Region.
The First Lady is a champion of the needs of the vulnerable in society, and philanthropy runs in her veins.
She started her philanthropic work when she was a member of Parliament, even before she became the First Lady, as she delights in lightening the burden for other people.
She left footprints demonstrating a passion for the needs of the less privileged.
On assuming her role as First Lady, she intensified her initiatives of empowering the vulnerable by forming the Angel Of Hope Foundation, which she launched in 2018.
As founder and Patron of the Foundation, she has spearheaded philanthropic works, spreading its wings to the most marginalized communities and advocating for their inclusion and integration into mainstream society.
She has countless educative empowerment programs to uplift the girl child, orphans, women, widows, the elderly, and those with disabilities, among other vulnerable groups.
Amai Mnangagwa advocates reproductive health and teaches communities about risks that come from not being checked regularly.
Through the Foundation, she has never turned a blind eye to everyday challenges that communities face, mainly women and children, but embraced everyone with equal attention and love. She runs an all-encompassing empire where no one is left behind.
The First Lady has transformed the lives of thousands of Zimbabweans, making better-off areas equally able to withstand the pressures that come from the environment.
She serves as a tourism patron, wildlife ambassador, AgriTech patron, and patron for women cotton growers and women potato farming, among other demands.
Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa is a women’s champion who never tires.
